Frederick A. Tecce, a former Assistant U.S. Attorney in the Criminal Division, and a registered patent attorney, focuses his practice primarily on patent litigation, on both hourly and contingency fee bases. Mr. Tecce has extensive federal court litigation and trial experience handling matters such as theft of trade secrets, antitrust, copyrights, trademarks, cyber-squating, domain name misappropriation, idea misappropriation, and unfair competition.
As an Assistant U.S. Attorney, Mr. Tecce, a commercial pilot, successfully tried to verdict the first fraud prosecution of an airline and two FAA officials for which he received the United States Department of Transportation Inspector General Commendation for superior performance. Mr. Tecce also handled all aspects of the investigation and prosecution through trial of a wide range of federal crimes such as arson, major drug trafficking that included serious violent felonies and murder, bank robbery, armored car robbery, counterfeiting, mail fraud, wire fraud, and narcotics, including one of the country's largest seizures of cocaine. Upon leaving the U.S. Attorneys Office, Mr. Tecce was appointed a special prosecutor to assist in the investigation of another airline and possible public corruption. On three separate occasions, Mr. Tecce was awarded the prestigious Attorney General Commendation for outstanding performance as an Assistant United States Attorney.
For more than twenty years, Mr. Tecce has been involved in patent and intellectual property litigation, often times representing intellectual property owners and small businesses. Mr. Tecce combines his training and employment as an engineer; his work for a patent licensing organization; his background working for the Honorable Anthony J. Scirica, then of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania; as well as extensive federal court trial experience as a criminal Assistant United States Attorney.
Mr. Tecce has successfully handled countless patent and intellectual property litigations both on behalf of intellectual property owners, and in defense of charges of infringement and misappropriation. He has been involved in over forty different patent cases and has represented clients in industries which include medical devices, juvenile products, building materials, cosmetics, aircraft manufacturing, telecommunications, artificial turf and other technologies.
Over the years, Mr. Tecce has also handled numerous criminal defense matters, including kidnapping, murder, the killing of a federal witness, organized crime, bank robbery, gun trafficking and fraud, including fraudulent aircraft maintenance and the falsification of aircraft maintenance records.
Mr. Tecce also serves on the faculty at the National Institute For Trial Advocacy (NITA) teaching trial advocacy at NITA's national seminars. He is also a regular and featured speaker on television and radio, including Comcast CN8, It's Your Call With Lynn Doyle and KYW 1060, Philadelphia's all-news station.
